Pastor Chris Removes Information About His Wife From Church Website.
Latest findings by Daily Post indicates that Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the Christ Embassy has removed every information about his wife, Anita from the church website. This is not unconnected with the wind of divorce currently blowing in the family. The Cable had exclusively reported that the wife, Anita who is also Vice President of Loveworld Assembly, better known as Christ Embassy had filled for divorce in a London Court over alleged adultery. Following the shocking revelation, Daily Post ran a quick check on the church’s website (http://www.christembassy.org) only to discover that every information about the wife has been expunged. Previously, the picture of Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita were on the homepage of the website but following the shocking revelation, the wife has been removed from the site. Amazingly, Daily Post is currently monitoring the live service of the church and pastor Chris is yet to open up on the issue....

WHY‬ THERE HAVE BEEN NO LG ELECTIONS IN OYO STATE SINCE AJIMOBI CAME TO OFFICE

Many people, especially Dr. Ben Jimi Dada whom I love so much and I'm proud of, have asked me to investigate why we have not had local government election in Oyo State, since Governor Abiola Ajimobi assumed office.

Since 2011, our LGs have been manned by caretaker councils appointed at the sole discretion of the governor. This is undemocratic as it runs against the spirit and letters of section 7 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

However, my findings show that the fate of LG elections in Oyo State is intertwined in a labyrinth of litigations instituted by 3 different parties namely:

1. Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission OYSIEC members appointed by Governor Ladoja who were sacked by Governor Alao Akala.

2. OYSIEC members appointed by Alao-Akala but sacked by Governor Ajimobi and the Ajimobi administration which wants to know which of the judgements given in the above 2 cases to obey and follow.

These are legal impediments as opposed to the political as reasons for not conducting local government elections in Oyo State.

When Otunba Alao-Akala came on board as the Governor of our dear state after the impeachment of Senator Ladoja, he sacked all the members of OYSIEC appointed by Ladoja. The sack was undoubtedly unconstitutional in that the constitution prescribes a 5year certain period for members, who were yet to see out their tenure when sacked, challenged their dissolution in court and judgement was not delivered until after Senator Abiola Ajimobi was sworn in as Governor. The said court declared their removal as illegal and unconstitutional and the government was directed to pay them all their entitlements.

With that declaration by the court as per P.O Ige (as he then was the judge), it automatically follows that Otunba Akala's appointees were occupying the office illegally as the office was not vacant when they were appointed into that office.

The Ajimobi government complied with the judgement and settled all the arrears of salaries of the judgement creditors.

He (Ajimobi) made moves to constitute OYSIEC board, but the Akala men also went to court to challenge their removal from office. Oyo State High Court under Justice M.O. Bolaji -Yussuff also gave judgement in their favour and against the state government. The government was also ordered to pay this set of OYSIEC Board as well.

Ajimobi felt that it is against due process to apply state resources to offset the salaries of 2 sets of people for the same office at thesame time, more so that a court had also declared those occupiers of the office as illegal.

Therefore, he presented the two matters to the Court of Appeal for determination on which of the two conflicting judgements to follow.

Once the Court of Appeal clears the legal impediments and government is empowered legally to constitute the Board, machinery can be set in motion by the Board towards conducting the elections.

Osun poll:
Omisore hires 7 SANs, submits 815 page petition to tribunal.

Standard-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the August 9, 2014 governorship poll, Senator Iyiola Omisore, on Thursday, finally filed 815-page petition at the Election Petition Tribunal, to challenge the declaration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola as the winner of the poll.

Accompanied by the Chairman of the PDP in the state, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, Omisore, who arrived at the premises of the State High Court around 4.05 pm, headed for the office behind one of the court’s buildings, where the secretary of the Election Petition Tribunal, Mr Mohammed Alli received his entourage.

Nigerian Tribune sighted him alongside the state’s PDP chairman, signing the petition which were in three bundles of 815 pages booklets, before they were handed over to the tribunal’s secretary.

Speaking during a chat with journalists after submission of the petition, Omisore contended that, “with the submission of this petition, I would
soon be declared the original winner of theAugust 9, 2014 governorship election in Osun, with lawful votes cast by the people of this state, unlike the rigged and manipulated figures released by the INEC, which declared the candidate of APC as the winner.”

According to him, “there was huge connivance between the INEC, OYES cadets, who they used as presiding officers and some policemen, who were
bribed and bought over to chase our agents out of polling units and centres. This development indicated that there was no transparency, fairness in the conduct of the poll in some identified areas in the state.”

Responding to a question on his confidence in the Election Petition Tribunal to dispense unbiased justice, considering the controversy that
characterised the tribunal, which sacked former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s government, Omisore simply stated, “as far as we are concerned, that tribunal that sent Oyinlola away, headed by Justice Salami, paid dearly for their misdeeds.

LAGOS DEDICATE AUGUST SANITATION EXERCISE TO EBOLA VIRUS DISEASEPREVENTIVE CAMPAIGN

Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment, Tunji Bello, has said that the State Government has dedicated the statewide Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the month of August 2014, holding on Saturday 30th August 2014, between the hours of 7.00am-10.00am, towards massive advocacy campaign and demonstration of preventive measures to curb the spread of the Ebola Virus Disease. He noted that as a responsible and responsive Government, the present administration would continue to be in the forefront of the campaign for a healthier and sustainable environment. According to him, “over the years the present administration had embarked on massive public enlightenment to educate Lagosians on the need to desist from unhygienic acts like open urination and defecation, cleaning of our Environment and proper waste management, as its consequences are grievous”. “Now that we have an index case of the Ebola virus disease in the state, this is now another wakeup call for all Lagosians to desist from unhygienic acts that could spread the disease”, he added. Noting that officials from his Ministry will, during the August Sanitation Exercise, go round the state to demonstrate preventive steps and ways to prevent the spread of the disease, Bello emphasized that the State Government has zero tolerance for acts such as defecating and urinating in the public, street trading, indiscriminate dumping of refuse and constructions of structures along drainage alignments. The Commissioner urged Lagosians to troop out in large number and actively participate in the statewide exercise, stressing that efforts should be concentrated on the cleaning of drains, canals and fumigation of our environment, in order to completely eliminate the disease in the state. While advising Lagosians to sustain the Solid Waste Management Programme of the State Government through the patronage of LAWMA/PSP.

Witnesses launch world’s most translated website

Jehovah’s Witnesses have launched a month-long global distribution of a new tract entitled Where Can We Find Answers to Life’s Big Questions? to raise awareness of their official website, jw.org.

By Wisdom Mdzungairi

Accessible in about 500 languages, with publications available for download in almost 700 languages, jw.org is the world’s most translated website.

The campaign was launched last week ahead of the first ever international convention to be held in Zimbabwe from August 22-24 to be attended by over 50 000 local and foreign delegates.

The international convention will host 3 500 delegates from the United States, Germany, Brazil and other countries including visiting missionaries.

The convention series commenced in the US and then continued in Australia, Ecuador, England, Germany, Greece, Mexico, South Korea, and Zimbabwe.

Convention spokesperson John Hunguka said: “For the past two weekends now, and continuing into next week, Jehovah’s Witnesses will extend personal invitations to everyone from the whole country of Zimbabwe to attend the convention with them.”

According to the organisation, 1 million unique visitors go to jw.org each day. The site features articles and videos offering practical advice to people of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances. One of these videos entitled, Why Study the Bible? will be linked to a QR code found on the new tract. This video merges live-action elements and animation to illustrate the practical benefits of studying the Bible.

It is currently available in over 450 languages and has been downloaded nearly 4 million times since it was released last November.

Speaking at a Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) press briefing in Harare on Thursday, Hunguka said the gathering was different from other smaller conventions held in different parts of the country.

In addition to the international convention to be held in Harare, the Witnesses will also organise regional conventions in Karoi, Mutare, Gweru and Bulawayo, according to Hunguka.

“We would like to express our appreciation to all government departments that have supported our convention. We normally hold at least 30 regional conventions annually but this one is unique in that it will host a huge number of delegates for the first time in the country. This convention is being held in Zimbabwe for the first time, it is the only country in Africa to have hosted this convention this year,” he said.

Hunguka said all Witnesses and invited guests were being encouraged to attend.

“On Monday [tomorrow], we are expecting at least 900 international delegates to arrive and the rest will trickle in as the week progresses,” he said, adding that the convention would provide insight into issues vexing families and how to deal with them.

“This programme is about seeking God’s kingdom and putting that first in our life,” Hunguka said.

He added the three-day programme was aimed at teaching people about basic bible principles and how it affects family life, personality traits and characteristics.

“We believe God’s name is Jehovah; he is the creator of all things. We owe our worship and obedience to Him as our creator,” he said.

Through talks, demonstrations, interviews, dramas and accounts, families would be affected in a positive way.

The international conventions are thrilling and festive occasions to attend, which the public will enjoy as the Witnesses gather together as families and friends for what promises to be an exceptional series of programmes.

“The programme will highlight a central theme of the Bible and two core beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses — that God’s Kingdom was established in 1914 and that Jesus Christ is the King of that Kingdom. Really, the convention marks the centennial of God’s Kingdom,” Hunguka said.

He added, as was true with all of the Witnesses’ meetings, there will be no admission fee nor will collections be taken.

Hunguka said other countries in Africa were also invited to attend similar international conventions held overseas.

Last year, 36 regional conventions were held and a total 87 439 attended at different venues all over the country and 1 276 new members were baptized. The international convention in Harare will begin next Friday at 9:20am each day until August 24.

Worldwide, there are over 7,9 million Witnesses in more than 113 000 congregations and in Zimbabwe there are 42 000 Witnesses.

AUGUST 28, 2014 BY SIMON UTEBOR, PORT HARCOURT

Rivers State Government says the patients of the late Dr. Iyke Enemoah, who died of Ebola have been identified and restricted.

Our correspondent learnt that the late doctor died at the Good Heart Hospital on Evo Road, GRA, Port Harcourt.

It was learnt that the deceased, who was a doctor at Sam Steel Clinic on East-West Road, was rushed to the hospital after he took ill with symptoms of Ebola.

He was said to have operated on a woman on Monday after secretly treating the ECOWAS diplomat, who was part of Patrick Sawyer’s team, but took ill the next day.

It was gathered that he was ill for only three days before he started vomiting blood, while passing out faeces stained with blood.

He was said to have been rushed first to Prime Hospital where he was rejected and then taken to the Good Heart Hospital, whose managing director is said to be a cardiologist.

Governor Chibuike Amaechi, who made a special broadcast to the people of the state on Thursday confirmed that the doctor died on August 22, as a result of what was suspected to be Ebola virus disease.

He said the state Ministry of Health on becoming aware of the conditions of his death, immediately commenced investigations and began tracing those who had contact with him.

He said, “As at today, about 100 contacts from a hotel, and patients of the hospital where he was treated until his demise have been identified and restricted. The different locations are being decontaminated.

“Our investigation reveals that an official of the Economic Community of West African States on the team that received late Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American diplomat who died of Ebola haemorrhagic disease in Lagos, Nigeria made a trip to Port Harcourt where he checked into a hotel and met with him.

OF MANIFEST PSYCHOSIS & PSYCHIATRICS IN POLITICS I.

"He has lost the greater chunk of his sanity that steals, loots and amasses wealth he wouldn't exhaust in ten life-times had he lived them in reasonable comfort. Greed inexplicable is insanity and unbridled looting psychiatric." - Prof. Chris Nwaokobia Jnr.

I read about politicians criss-crossing from Party A to Party B. I read about the oft empty logic and reason for such frequent decampings. I read somewhat strenuous efforts by some to present their political harlotry as pro people. I wonder why these men speak from both sides of the mouth, and I marvel why they all too often return to their vomit.

Some have gone back and forth twice or thrice and some will yet move, yes it is their inalienable right to so do BUT to present a self-driven decision as altruistic and people oriented is where I disagree.

Money and power humbles and calls men in other climes to responsible conduct alas in our clime it mimes the tune of graft, of greed, of ignoble quest for political position cum positioning, of thieving, of oppression and of reckless tendencies within the corridors and frontiers of power.

I was thought as a Law Student some 20years ago that as one ages and closes the gap between one and hades the tendency to do wrong, lie or give false evidence diminishes, this legal protocol is called a 'dying man's declaration' BUT in Nigeria men loot and steal in their 60s, 70s and 80s, they loot as though stealing is right, and they fleece resources they do not need in ten life-times such defines their mental state.

Methinks that the preponderant number that trots our political amphitheatre if subjected to psychiatric tests will fail, that I am sure of.

To be CONTD.

PDP accuses EKSU of N2.5bn contract fraud

AUGUST 27, 2014

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State has accused the Governing Council of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, of siphoning fund through frivolous awards of contracts.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Oluwawole, alleged that the institution planned to award phoney contracts worth N2.5 billion later this week.

He said, “As the party that will form the incoming administration in the state, the PDP has to draw the attention of the people of the state to official misconduct going on in EKSU.

“The Governing Council of the institution has not met for over six months now and a meeting has been fixed for Thursday where phoney contracts valued at N2.5bn will be awarded.

“The contracts were not advertised for tender, there was no bidding process. The contracts never passed through due process as expected, but they want to award them.

“It is disheartening that such actions are being perpetrated in a citadel of learning, a university for that matter. This is coming against the backdrop of the illegal employment of over 1,000 workers in the institution, and all these taking place after the incumbent governor was defeated in the June 21 election.”

Expressing concerns over alleged persistent looting of the state’s treasury, he warned the governing council to desist from such act, because the incoming government would probe the university and ensure that reckless spending of the state fund would not go unpunished.

“Again, in their own interest, the staff of EKSU and civil servants in the state service should not allow any politician to rubbish their career because such politicians will not be around to beg for them for allowing themselves to be used to defraud the state,” he advised

In his reaction, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Oladipo Aina, described the PDP’s allegation as baseless and unfounded.

All my life I have dreamed of being just like everyone else. I don’t want or need the fame that this would bring so I have no desire to be in this Guinness book.

I never got married because I don’t want to inflict my problems on a wife. I think it would not be fair on her".

Remmy Ksr Hazzan > Ogun People's Forum
Good morning great citizens of Ogun State. My name is Remmy Hazzan, an indigenes of Ogun State and a major stakeholder in the Ogun State project. Having appraised all of what our dear governor presented as his stewardship on the state owned TV station last night, it is imperative that Ogun State people who are equally stakeholders in the Ogun State project ascertain the true position of things as regards governance in our dear state.
To this end, since it has constantly been the the government's words against that of the oppositions, I on behalf of all opposition figures challenge the government of Senator Ibikunle Amosun to a live debate on National TV where all matters will be laid bare on the table and our people can then conclude as they are convinced.
The MONOLOGUE on TV last night does not tell the story. We await the administration's acceptance of this challenge as early as possible. Modalities will then be set out by the two sides accordingly..
God bless Ogun State.

Tom Ikimi writes...

It would come as no great surprise if Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s boasted great wealth did not derive from any stupendous inheritance ancient or modern. Or that his sudden bragging as though Nigeria’s Bill Gates is an accumulation of extraordinary hard work or financial wizardry. I would rather trust the informed whispers in the inner circles of the party which have it that having positioned himself as perceived leader in the most lucrative income sources of the party, he is recipient and dispenser of bags and bags of party funds. I am also become aware that he is, too, a beneficiary of most of the lucrative contracts in all the ACN states without exception. To further bolster his image it was also frequently said that Tinubu has control of all the votes from South Western Nigeria which, as has been currently touted, when added to the votes of North Western Nigeria would guarantee victory for the APC in the upcoming Presidential election.6.This reckless and arrogant self-aggrandizement paved the way for the imposition of a strange leadership on the APC in July 2013 when the party obtained registration from INEC. Those of us who had worked so hard towards the successful merger and creation of the APC were manipulated out of the scheme of things. In the bizarre struggle to seize control of the party we were even openly accused by the self-proclaimed owners of the party, of wanting to steal “their” party. Many of us in the party as well as keen observers outside frowned at the skewed leadership image of the party that was being paraded. An image that blatantly ignored National sensitivities. The draft constitution prepared by the Merger Committee included an exit clause, which provided a time limit of six months for the Interim Management of the Party. That clause mysteriously disappeared from the version of the constitution that was smuggled into INEC records. Chief Bisi Akande’s National Chairmanship was therefore primed to stay on in power ad infinitum!

Oyo State government has approved all outstanding promotion of teachers in  both primary and secondary schools in the state, effective from September.

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Oyo State chapter, Mr Kolawole Kayode stated this in Ibadan, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of a meeting held behind closed door with the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The NUT chairman said relevant agencies had been directed to ensure that outstanding promotion of teachers were cleared, while letters to the effect, would read September 1, 2014.

Kayode explained that primary school teachers with additional qualifications and those who had been stagnant on Grade Level 14 for years could now move to Grade level 15.

In his contribution,  the NUT Secretary, Oyo State wing, Mr Waheed Olojede, who displayed a copy of a gazette for Saki Zone, said the state government had made provision for a document which contained teachers record of service, to ease the stress they usually pass through during retirement.

BREAKING NEWS!
Omisore and Osun PDP head for the Election Tribunal

We reject August 9, 2014 gubernatorial results “After a comprehensive review of the processes leading to the announced outcome of the August 9, 2014 gubernatorial election in Osun state, we are convinced that there were massive irregularities and monumental fraud perpetrated by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola led All Progressives Congress (APC ) in the state. We have, therefore, decided to challenge this brazen attempt to subvert the wishes of the electorate who came out to support our Rescue Mission Campaign, and gubernatorial candidates of the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) at the Tribunal as provided for by the constitution and electoral laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We use this opportunity to invite media organisations who have followed the Osun state election process before, during and after the gubernatorial election to cover the filling our papers at the Tribunal in Osogbo on Wednesday 27th August, 2014 at 10 AM and its subsequent seating. All the antics of those who have corrupted the electoral system through their ill -gotten wealth would come into the public glare. And people will then be in a better position to identify the pseudo-democrats who are parading themselves as progressives. This is a case that will deepen democracy as shocking revelations will be made during the course of this epic legal battle that would strengthened the course of democracy in Osun state in particular and Nigeria in general. We proceed to the Tribunal with abiding faith in God Almighty who will always make the victory of the unjust pyrrhic and confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the cheated..."

Nigerian soldiers who fled to Cameroun on way back – DHQ

Describes the fleeing as tactical maneuver

The Nigerian Defence headquarters has described as ‘tactical maneuver’ the fleeing of some 480 Nigeria soldiers who were engaged in battle against Boko Haram to Cameroun on Monday.

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC had earlier on Monday reported that the soldiers had fled to the Central African country following fierce
confrontation with the insurgents in Gamboru Ngala, a town in Nigeria border with Cameroun following fierce fighting with the insurgents.

Reports indicates that the insurgent had added the town to the other territories of Nigeria under their
control after they chase out Nigeria soldiers from their barrack in the area on Monday morning.

Didier Badjek, described as a spokesperson for the Camerounian military had confirmed the story,
adding that the soldiers have been disarmed and are being accommodated in some schools. But in a post on its website, Defence headquarters
said: “the Nigerian troops that were found in Cameroun was as a result of a sustained battle between the troops and the terrorists around the
borders with Cameroun which saw the Nigerian troops charging through the borders in a tactical maneuver.

Eventually they found themselves on Camerounian soil. Being allies the normal protocol of managing
such incident demanded that the troops submit their weapons in order to assure the friendly country that they were not on a hostile mission.

“Following necessary discussions between Nigerian and Camerounian military authorities, the issues have been sorted out. Subsequently, the
troops are on their way back to join their unit in Nigeria. The reference to the incidence as a defection is therefore not appropriate considering the discussion between the two countries’ military leadership and the series of contacts with the soldiers who have confirmed that they are safe.

“Meanwhile, troops are repelling a group of terrorists.

Ebola Virus:

Custom Intercepts And Impounds Trailer Loaded With Monkey Meat. The Nigeria Custom Service has impounded a trailer full of smoked meat allegedly said to be monkey meat being imported into the country through the Jibia border in Katsina State. The Nation reports that NCS Federal Operation Unit "Zone B" led by OC of the team, Assistant Comptroller, Gambo Azare deemed the seizure of the trailer loaded with monkey meat necessary due to the Ebola rampage in the country. The truck contained 351 bags of bush monkey meat and that each of the bags weighed 100kg. Topping many of the reasons also, is the knowledge that the NCS has about monkeys being one of the major source of the deadly Ebola Virus disease, stressing that the seized monkey meat may have come from Libya. The Nigeria Custom Service, which is alive to joining hands with the government and citizens at large to curtail the pawns of this deadly disease immediately set the monkey meats on fire, destroying it, under the supervision of the Comptroller, Federal Operation, Zone B of the service, ATM Maina and the Deputy Governor of Katsina State represented by the Commissioner for health. According to the officer, who led the operation, Assistant Comptroller, Gambo Azare, the driver of the trailer full of the infectious monkey meat ran away, abandoning the trailer when he noticed he was being trailed by men of the Nigeria Custom Service, a trail which later turn into a hot chase that made the man to abandon the vehicle and ran into the forest.

Dr Abati speaks on the term clueless:

“Question: One of the most used words by the opposition or people who don’t like Jonathan is that he is “clueless.” Looking back, from what you have said about the president’s achievement, how do you respond to that?

Answer: I have had cause to respond to those people on many occasions. It is very obvious now that it is those people criticizing President Jonathan who are totally clueless. They have no idea whatsoever. You are beginning to see it now. The thing around their neck is beginning to play out. Some of their key spokespersons who used to criticize President Jonathan are now all rushing to come to the President’s party. They are in fact gate-crashing.I mean, one of the key figures in the APC has declared for the PDP in his home state in Adamawa. And that is a man who was once famously quoted as saying that Nigeria under President Jonathan is a sinking ship. The same man is joining that ship because he has seen that the ship is not sinking at all and that the captain of the ship is a good captain who is providing quality leadership. He has seen the light and the light has set him free. That is the kind of illumination that has been happening to many of these persons. They suddenly see the light and they recant and I am very happy. Even a former governor and a former Minister have also joined the PDP. These are people who used to criticize the ruling government, these are people who used to criticize President Jonathan but they keep seeing the light. We welcome such people. So, the same people you are quoting, many of them are coming into the PDP. Many of them are joining President Jonathan. And I believe that as we move towards 2015, you will find more and more people like that. We don’t need to say anything anymore.

The Lord Almighty is winning the battle for us.These are the people who championed the various abuses and they are turning to our side now and supporting us..."

Ajimobi worries over voters’ registration

GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has expressed concern over the anomalies and irregularities that characterised the ongoing voters’ registration exercise and the collection of permanent voter’s card in the state.

The governor, briefing the press, on Friday, after his visit to the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Alhaji Nasiru Ayilara, at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Ibadan, said that it had been discovered that the registration machines brought by the commission for the exercise were inadequate to meet the requirements of voters.

“The purpose of this visit is to express our concern to INEC regarding the ongoing PVC collection as well as new voters’ registration exercise. We found that in many of the areas, particularly in Ibadan axis, that the machines they brought are inadequate to meet the requirements of the voters who are either collecting their PVCs or those that want to newly register,” he said.

“We have expressed this concern to INEC and we have been assured that necessary steps would be taken to correct these anomalies,” he said.

Governor Ajimobi assured the people of the state that nobody would be disenfranchised.

“With the assurances I have received from the INEC REC, I believe him and I have no doubt in my mind that all the people in the state will be registered.”

The governor also explained that the REC informed him that he had received approval that there would be a second phase whereby all the people would have the opportunity of receiving their PVCs and register accordingly.

He urged the people not to be discouraged by the various anomalies, stressing that registration of voters and collection of permanent voters’ card would be a continuous exercise.

In his reaction, Alhaji Ayilara assured that INEC had put in place necessary arrangements.

Mimiko is Labour Party and Labour Party is Mimiko but now that he has moved from the branch (Labour Party) to headquarter (PDP), what will happen to his regimented followers in oyo state Labour Party?

If I expose the demons in APC, Nigeria will burn – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Fani-Kayode, has said Nigeria will burn if he exposes the antics of his ‘former’ party, APC. Fani- Kayode also advised former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to put an end to his romance with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) because the party hierarchy detests him and are only ‘using him’ to ride to power. The controversial former minister who made the revelations via a statement stated that it was unfortunate that the ex-president has not seen beyond the veil in his relationship with the leadership of APC. In his own words, “I will also use my good offices to talk to Baba Obasanjo to stop flirting with these demons in the APC, because deep down, they secretly hate him. Other than those that left PDP to go to APC, the rest of them despise OBJ and are only using him. We must save OBJ from them. “I once described the party (PDP) as a ‘sinking ship’ and, at the time, I meant it. However, it is now my firm resolve that we shall join hands with all men and women of goodwill from now on and, together, we shall stop that ship from sinking. This is because we have no choice but to do so. “I would rather go back to a sinking ship and salvage it rather than be in bed with a bunch of ruthless men and women, who have blood on their hands and whose desperation for power and to rule over those that they believe were born to be their slaves, borders on obsession. “Despite all its defects and challenges, I have gone back to my family, the PDP, and I am glad to be back there. I am also glad that they have welcomed me with open arms. Now the work begins”. Fani-Kayode further revealed that he was ready to expose the atrocities of APC, which, according to him, was parading itself as an alternative to the PDP. “So far, I have only revealed 10 per cent of what I know because I do not want to create havoc in this country....

Osun Guber Poll: Court Remand Fake DSS in Prison.

It was a sad day today for a 22year old Aladegolu Victor, one of the mercenary from Ekiti State imported by the PDP to pose as DSS and Police officer on election duty when his bail application was refused by the presiding Magistrate, Olusola Aluko and subsequently ordered to be remanded in Ilesa prison.

Aladegolu Victor was nabbed at Ile-Ife on the 9th of August,2014 wearing blackT-shirts with the inscription "Police" in the front and" DSS" behind. The suspect had been released by the police but for the vigilance of the Government of the State of Osun and its insistence that he be charged to court to serve as deterrence to others, the accused was re-arrested in Ado-Ekiti and brought back to Osogbo to face his trial.

To ensure that the case is properly prosecuted, the state Ministry of Justice took over the prosecution of the case from the police to ensure that the criminal do not escape justice. We shall keep you posted as the event is unfolding.

Babangida said that, if a wife cannot influence certain decisions of her husband, not all decisions, then that wife is not fit to be a partner in a marriage.
Of all the powers in the world, none is more powerful than pillow talk, that is, night talk between a wife and a husband. The power of a woman is unlimited. That is the way it has been, and that is the way it will continue to be for ever and ever.

Adamawa gov race: Ribadu, Marwa, Gundiri suffer setback

Nigeria's Federal Government has finally announced N200 million (yes, Two hundred million naira) to the Lagos State Government as intervention fund to fight Ebola!

... contrast this with some N11billion expended Osun State elections ... some still in some private pockets?

... And now, some official tributes on the passage of Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh:

... The Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu says:

" ... Indeed she had to physically restrain this infected person from escaping from the hospital, when the later attempted to do so having been communicated that he was Ebola positive.

Indeed, if that index case had escaped from the hospital at that stage, it would have spell disaster for Nigeria, as many more persons would have been very difficult to track down.

There is no doubt that Dr. Adadevoh was not only dedicated, committed and a competent doctor, but she showed rare courage, a rare sense of duty, service and patriotism to her country,”

... The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris has been full of praise for the late doctor, recalling that Dr. Adadevoh led the team who attended to the index case and her doggedness and commitment saw her personally review the case even thought the patient had earlier been seen by a doctor.

Says he:

“.... we recorded the death of the Senior Consultant/Endocrinologist of First Consultant Hospital, Obalende Lagos- Dr. Stella Shade Ameyo Adadevoh.

She, it was, who took the initiative to intimate the ministry concerning the index case and substantially to her credit, the moderate containment achieved we owe to her and her colleagues.

No doubt, she and other affected health workers are our heros and heroines of the day ...”

ps:
Adieu, Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, our truly unforgettable and selfless servant of the people.

'Unforgettable', that is what you are, and indeed will continue to be in our hearts. Your sacrificial 'labour of love' will not be in vain.

But, God Rules!

Johnathan's Songs of Praise--

I utterly beg to differ with Mallam Nuhu Ribadu's assertion. If he says the APC does not have what it takes to change Nigeria, well that's up to him, after all, he was once with them! My Question now, is does his perceived inability, of the APC to change Nigeria, a yardstick for him to say that President Jonathan has surpassed his vision for Nigeria? Oh, my God, that was a very patronising statement! Has Ribadu suddenly forgotten, everything he said about President Jonathan? As the Chairman of Presidential committee that verify the revenue due to Nigeria, and having found that Nigeria lost $183m in signature bonus to fraudulent practices, under President Jonathan, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu presented the report of the committee to the presidency, and he consistently lambasted the President for not releasing the findings, the ills, the blame and perhaps the cure of his committee to the public. In fact, up till date, President Jonathan is yet to release the findings of the Ribadu's committee let alone to punish the corrupt officials and provide cure to the problems. The consequence is the corrupt officials and the NNPc have been embolden to the extent, that various huge sums are either missing or converted into private pockets under the watch of President Jonathan. It was after Ribadu's findings that $20bn was missing, it was after Ribadu's findings that Mrs DieZani Alison Madueke's $20M chartered jet was discovered. Amidst gross financial misdeeds several cases of maladministration! Besides the painful fact that the Jonathanian administration has now painfully divided Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines Therefore it is self serving, it is dangerous, it is unbelievable that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who once said that President Jonathan was covering up corruption, could now be the one singing a lullaby of honor for President Jonathan. Look at how Nigerian politicians are destroying our youth, destroying Nigeria's future ~MurtaZa Micky Yusuf

I will join PDP when satan converts to Islam— El Rufai

By Abiodun Alade,@biodunpen
Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said that he will consider the option of defection to the People Democratic Party, PDP when satan repents and converts to Islam.
He made the assertion in reply to a question by one of his followers on twitter, stressing that he will hardly take the option. This is coming in the wake of the defection of his friend and former Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
El-Rufai is a former stalwart of the PDP and served the government during the Olusegun Obasanjo tenure.

Nuhu Ribadu on Amaechi and Kwankwaso

Nuhu Ribadu

My good friends,

I know how difficult it may be for you to come to terms with my defection to another party. But I must assure you that it's a carefully considered decision for which I do not wish to hurt anyone's feeling. I'll not embark on a needless animosity with my good friends, irrespective of political, religious, regional and ethnic affiliations.

Let me quickly make it known that I did not issue a statement disparaging APC and its members, including Governors Amaechi, Kwankwaso... These were clearly fabricated, expected backlash, by mischievous characters interested in misleading the public and drawing a picture of non-existent feuds between me and my good friends.

My defection shouldn't be seen as an initiation of political antagonism with my good friends in another party. I still hold them in high esteem, and even where there are marked differences, I believe there are decorous and honorable ways of resolving them. So, kindly disregard any statement said to be by me attacking the personality of any politician since my defection. I'll never allow myself to be drawn into such disrespectful exchange.

As for my next step in this political struggle, this would be made known in due time. For now, I wish to assure you that my defection is in pursuit of a good cause, and never out of any selfish interests as portrayed by a section. Thanks for bearing with me on this decision, and for those who have been in solidarity with my struggles and still giving me the benefits of the doubt, I'm most grateful. I'll never let you down

(you may have heard the news, but sharing below, just in case?)

... x-raying our 'state of nature'; where life has become:

Nasty ...

Dr. Ada (not Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh), of First Consultants Hospital, experienced a miraculous healing lately. She, Dr. Ada got discharged 'free of the ebola virus - but returns to a parlous home ...

Her hubby - after the Liberian 'cataclysm' Patrick Sawyer came calling for 'bogus' medical help in her hospice - had abandoned her in quarantine, had backed off, packed away and had since consigned her to a 'journey of no return' before this her resurrection from the crypt ...!
... did I hear your murmur "...for-better-for-worse?" ... fame, faith, fate - the ultimate judge!

Brutish ...

... 8 Armed Robbers rape nursing mother to coma after robbing husband & throwing 3-months-old baby away in Kogi State, Nigeria. The robbers, at gunpoint, tied the husband to a tree and raped his wife until she fainted in his presence.

The eight of them took turns in raping her until she fainted before escaping with their car and valuables. As God will have it; two of the robbers were later apprehended while trying to escape from the scene of the crime.

... And amid the fear of the Ebola virus in the country, it was with disbelief that residents of Iguosa community in Ovia North East Local Government Council of Edo State, Nigeria ran to an uncompleted building in the area to see an 18-year-old boy, simply identified as Ighodaro, making love to a dog.

He confessed he slept with different dogs five times until this last episode!

and, Short ...

... Nigeria's newly appointed Head of Service, Danladi Irmiya Kifasi was indicted of corruption in 2000 and barred from holding public office. But lo, today he oversees Nigeria's Civil Service!

... A 36yr old Nigerian Taxi cab driver, Afolabi Odifa got killed in Atlanta last night. Police think robbery is the motive. He was shot in back of his head.

Vigilance!

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Kenneth Minimah have expressed confidence in the ability of the Nigerian Armed Forces to defeat the terrorists troubling parts of the county.

Speaking weekend at the Nigerian Army Corps and School of Supply and Transport, Benin City during the Commissioning of its remodeled Officers Mess, facilitated by the state Government, Comrade Oshiomhole said terrorism and other violent crimes are alien to the nation and will be stamped out in no distant future.

According to him, “We in Edo state appreciate the sacrifices which the men and officers are paying at this critical time of our history dealing with new forms of crime that one never thought was possible in this country a couple of years back.

“We appreciate the will, the determination to confront the risk and to defeat them. I believe the Commander-in-Chief and our President, Goodluck Jonathan, is providing the leadership and the Nigeria Army is doing an excellent job in making a bold statement that these terrorists will be defeated. By the grace of God Nigeria will be secured for generations yet unborn”. he said.

“I want to thank Mr President who graciously approved the Army to support and compliment the efforts of the Nigeria Police. For us in Edo, the Nigeria Army is part and parcel of the community. Edo people are proud of the Nigeria Army and are proud of the contributions you are making to make Edo state safe” he added.

He thanked the Army for acknowledging the support of the state government. He said: “Giving the support is one thing and making judicious use of it is another. I think the officers who remodeled this building have shown the capacity of the Nigeria army to manage resources judiciously.”

"The Sacking of 16000 striking resident doctors at a time the country is battling to contain the Ebola outbreak is inauspicious, ill-advised and untimely.

Doctors, like other health workers, have legitimate rights to demand for effective health care reforms that guarantee them better conditions of service and prevent our struggling health system from failing.

It is in the overriding national interest for both parties to reconsider their positions and suspend, even if temporarily, the strike action in order to attend to the Ebola emergency.

The government should desist from taking any unilateral action that will only toughen up positions and preclude any chance of compromise. Instead, it should enter into honest and confidence-building negotiations with groups concerned and not try to make an enemy out of anyone who disagrees with its policies and actions."

The first military governor of Kebbi state and former minister of communications, Gen Patrick Aziza is dead. He died Saturday at the age of 67.
Aziza who has been sick of cancer, reportedly died in Abuja about 3:45am . The news of his death took the urhobos and Deltans aback as people were seen in groups discussing the sudden death of the onetime minister of Communication under the military government of late General Sani Abacha.
Major-General (retired) Patrick Aziza was the first military Governor of Kebbi state after it was split off from Sokoto State on 27 August 1991 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.
Aziza's was born in Okpe local Government Area in Delta state on 23 December 1947.  He was raised in Abakaliki. He went to Ibadan for his secondary education before joining the army and participating in the civil war (1967–1970). Aziza then attended the  Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, graduating in 1970. He was commissioned 2nd lieutenant and promoted to lieutenant in 1970, and was posted to the 3rd Marine Commando. In 1971 he was promoted to captain.
Aziza was the Brigade Commander of the Amphibious Brigade in Calabar when he was appointed the first military administrator of Kebbi State, holding office from 28 August 1991 to January 1992, when he handed over to the elected civilian governor at the start of the aborted  3rd Republic.
Aziza was a member of the group of officers that planned the coup in which General Sanni Abacha took power. He was Chairman of the Special Military Tribunal that convicted Olusegun Obasanjo and Major General Shehu Y' Ardua for involvement in an alleged 1995 coup plot.
He was also head of a tribunal that tried six journalists for treason, based on publishing accounts of the coup. The trials were swift and the conclusion appeared to be decided in advance.
Aziza was required by President Obasanjo to retire from the army in June 1999 after the return to democracy.

NIGERIA'S RESIDENT DOCTORS: REJECT SACK LETTER --NMA DARES GEJ [PHOTO]

The Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, has ordered all resident doctors to reject the federal government directive and not collect any sack letters from the management of their hospitals.

After a meeting by the association’s National Officers’ Committee, NOC, on Friday, the doctors were also advised not to sign any register opened by the Nigerian government or any hospital.

On Thursday, President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the sack of about 16,000 resident doctors in Nigeria.
Resident doctors are also members of the NMA, which has been on strike since July 1.

The directive by Mr. Jonathan was stated in an internal memo dated August 13 and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, L.N. Awute. The memo was addressed to tertiary hospitals.

Mr. Awute said the directive was given in a view of the challenges facing the health sector while hospitals could employ part time doctors (locum) who must be of ‘good behaviour’.
The memo also contained a sample of sack letters to be issued all the resident doctors in the different hospitals.

“In compliance with this order, I am to regrettably inform you that your appointment in this hospital is hereby terminated forthwith,” the permanent secretary said in the specimen sack letter she asked hospitals to issue resident doctors.

However, the NMA, in its resolution, ordered medical doctors to not apply for part time job as directed by FG’s circular.

“For the avoidance of doubt, no medical doctor no matter how hungry,  should pick up any locum appointment with the government hospitals as directed by the circular. Any doctor who flouts this directive, does so at his/her own peril,” the association said.

All doctors were also directed to remain committed to volunteering to help contain the Ebola Disease outbreak in Nigeria.

The association also advised the Nigerian government to ensure that people under the deadly disease surveillance do not travel outside their domain of residence.

The NMA also admonished all its members to remain calm and wait for further directive from the association.

The association condemned the president’s directive and asked him to withdraw the suspension circular and unconditionally reinstate all the ‘so-called sacked’ resident doctors.

It demanded that the government show commitment in resolving current impasse with the association rather than resorting to punitive measures that will only further aggravate the already deplorable situation.

The federal government had in its circular indicated that the resident doctors were being sacked because the government was suspending residency training “indefinitely.”

The NMA, however, advised that rather than abolish residency training, government should show more commitment towards improving the already poorly funded programme.

resident Goodluck Jonathan has approved the sack of doctors across federal hospitals in Nigeria, citing the current challenges facing the health sector as the reason for the action.

The doctors under the auspices of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had embarked on a strike to press home their demand for an improvement in their welfare on July 1 and several attempts to resolve the issue have ended in a stalemate.

The government had earlier accused the doctors of neglecting their oath to protect lives and continue to turn down the request to suspend the strike, particularly during the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus and the ongoing insurgency in some parts of the country.

In a letter signed on behalf of the health minister by L. N. Awute, a permanent secretary in the ministry of health, the president ordered that the action should take immediate effect.

“President Goodluck Jonathan has suspended the residency training programme for doctors in Nigeria indefinitely for the purposes of appraising the challenges facing the health sector,” read the letter.

“In line with the above, the Honourable Minister has directed that you issue letters of termination of Residency Training appointment to the affected Resident Doctors in your Hospital immediately.

“The Board of Management is to take all necessary measures to immediately restore full medical services in your hospital. Note however this is without prejudice to the employment of Locum Physicians on six months renewable contract tied to productivity and good behavior.”

In an interview with TheCable, one of the affected doctors condemned the development, stating that it is an indication that government does not know its priority.

“The federal government should have asked the government of Lagos state that tried toeing that lane, the end result of such action,” she said.

“Simply because we demanded for our rights they are attempting to intimidate us. Anyway, let us see who blinks first.”

A source told TheCable that the federal government had directed that locum doctors and doctors in military hospitals should be employed pending the time that the doctors are replaced.

Governor Babatunde Fashola adopted a similar stance when the medical doctors in Lagos State went on strike two years ago before the crisis was finally resolved.

AS the preparations for the 2015 general elections increases, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the second phase of the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to take place from tomorrow and end on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Commission, which was made available to newsmen in Abuja, the three-day exercise would take place in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The states include Yobe and Bauchi (North East); Jigawa and Sokoto (North West); FCT and Kwara (North Central); Anambra and Ebonyi (South East); Ondo and Oyo (South West); and Delta and Cross River (South South).

It stated that the continuous voter registration exercise would follow immediately in the above states from August 20-25.

It advised voters to cross-check their names in the displayed voters’ register, while those who registered before but did not see their names in the displayed register are to re-register during the continuous voter registration exercise.

It added that the exercise was not for those who wished to transfer to other areas and advised those wishing to transfer to write the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in their new states of domicile, before the election, as no transfer would be approved less than 30 days to the election.

It explained that those who had lost their cards or whose cards were damaged “may apply for them to be replaced by writing to the REC through the INEC Electoral Officer of the Local Government Area where they registered for their replacement before the election, saying “no replacement will be approved and no new card will be issued less than 30 days to the election.”

Meanwhile, Oyo State Government has declared Friday, August 15 public holiday in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Festus Adedayo in Ibadan, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the public holiday is to allow for massive turn-out

SINGING A DEVIOUS LULLABY: EKITI, OSUN ON MY MIND I.

"..Oh what a tangled web we weave. When first we practice to deceive."- Sir Walter Scott (Marmion, 1808).

Wait a minute, what does all the hullabaloo about the Ekiti and Osun polls being free, peaceful and fair connote? Does the massive deployment of troops and Security men to monitor elections suggest that we are a violent and an incorrigible electorate? Are we by Jove setting a new precedent in democratic practice where the military abandons their traditional role to become election monitors? To applaud the 'militarization' of the democratic space during elections is to sing democracy to an early slumber, yes we are singing democracy a devious lullaby.

Some have said that when the Edo election won by the APC was 'militarized' we were quiet, so we should overlook the Ekiti and the Osun spectacle. Sadly they ignore the fact that our critique of this new practice is neither pro APC nor Anti PDP, it is simply a plus for democracy and a nod for sane democratic ethos.

I must say for the umpteenth time that I am not a member of the APC, I have never been, nor am I a hater of my former Party the PDP. I hate ill-rule, I hate corruption, I hate religious hate, I hate ethnic jingoism, I hate and repudiate the persistent denial of a peoples right to democracy dividends, and I hate do-or-die politics. To condone and excuse the many ills of this chequered system is to sing democracy an intense lullaby.

What is right is right, and wrong, wrong. To excuse the massive deployment of Soldiers to monitor elections is to tell our Children and posterity that we are unripe for true democracy. It is an admission of guilt to wit that our politicians are not service oriented but lucre motivated for which violence and brigandage is veritable.

Curiously, is this new practice peace propelled or channeled at giving one Party the edge over the other?

TO BE CONTD.
